Success in Research: PUST’s Sajeeb on His Way to Japan

Continuing his track record of success in research, Sajib Kumar Roy, a former student of Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST), has been awarded the prestigious “MEXT Scholarship” by the Japanese government. On September 24, he is scheduled to leave for the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Yamanashi in Japan for higher studies and research.
Currently, he serves in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Varendra University. Engaged in research for over three years, Sajib has already published 15 research papers. His primary research interest lies in using computer vision technology to identify crop diseases and applying practical technological solutions in agriculture. He shared that he has had a strong interest in industry-oriented research since the beginning of his university life.
Sajib Kumar Roy completed his undergraduate degree from the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at Pabna University of Science and Technology.

গবেষণায় সাফল্যের ধারাবাহিকতায় জাপান সরকারের মর্যাদাপূর্ণ ‘মেক্সট স্কলারশিপ’ অর্জন করেছেন পাবনা বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের (পাবিপ্রবি) সাবেক শিক্ষার্থী সজীব কুমার রায়। আগামী ২৪ সেপ্টেম্বর উচ্চশিক্ষা ও গবেষণার উদ্দেশ্যে জাপানের ইয়ামানাশি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের কম্পিউটার সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগে যাওয়ার কথা রয়েছে তার।
বর্তমানে তিনি বরেন্দ্র বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের কম্পিউটার সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগে কর্মরত। দীর্ঘ তিন বছরের বেশি সময় ধরে গবেষণার সঙ্গে যুক্ত সজীব ইতোমধ্যে ১৫টি গবেষণা প্রবন্ধ প্রকাশ করেছেন। তার গবেষণার মূল আগ্রহ কম্পিউটার ভিশন প্রযুক্তি ব্যবহার করে ফসলের রোগ শনাক্তকরণ এবং কৃষিক্ষেত্রে বাস্তবভিত্তিক প্রযুক্তির প্রয়োগ। তিনি জানান, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় জীবনের শুরু থেকেই ইন্ডাস্ট্রি-ওরিয়েন্টেড গবেষণার প্রতি তার আগ্রহ ছিল।
সজীব কুমার রায় পাবনা বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইনফরমেশন অ্যান্ড কমিউনিকেশন ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগ থেকে স্নাতক সম্পন্ন করেন।
